ERGO Group entered the Chinese market in 2005 and since then has expanded its portfolio to include life insurance, P&C insurance, health insurance and related services, insurance brokerage and travel assistance.

In October 2019, ERGO China was established as a regional headquarters to foster the strategic development of ERGO in China and to empower affiliates leveraging global expertise and local experience. ERGO China aims to create solutions and opportunities for its partners and is committed to supporting the sustainable growth of China’s insurance market.

2005: ERGO entered the Chinese market, establishing ERV China and EURO-CENTER China to set up its travel assistance and health insurance TPA business. In the same year, ERGO’s health company DKV and PICC jointly established PICC Health.

2007-2009: ERGO set up Beijing & Jinan Representative Offices, preparing to further expand its footprint in China.

2013: ERGO and SSAIH jointly established ERGO China Life, marking its entry into the life insurance market in China.

2019: ERGO China was established as a regional headquarters to foster the strategic development of ERGO in China.

2021: ERGO strategically invested in Taishan Insurance, marking its entry into the P&C insurance market in China.

2023: ERGO stepped up to be the majority shareholder of ERGO China Life. EURO-CENTER ERGO (a merger of ERV China and EURO-CENTER China) was rebranded as ERGO Assistance. ERGO FESCO Brokerage, a joint venture between ERGO and FESCO, obtained insurance brokerage license, which materializes ERGO’s insurance value chain across risk carrier, distributor and service provider.
